Stephen Gilchrist is a lifelong Texan with deep roots in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Born in Dallas and raised around Fort Worth, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Christian University and an MBA from Louisiana State University. In 2010, Stephen joined his father in the automotive business, beginning in the accounting office before moving through fixed operations and dealership management. That path gave him a practical, ground-level understanding of how dealerships work and how to lead them well.
Over the years, Stephen has helped acquire, turn around, and grow dealerships across Texas and Oklahoma. The teams he has led have earned a wide range of industry recognition, including Ford President's Awards, Chevrolet and GMC Mark of Excellence Awards, Toyota President's Awards, Volkswagen Gold Pin recognition, and national Top 100 Ford Dealer rankings.
Stephen is also involved in the broader automotive industry, especially in dealer advocacy and leadership. He serves on the Texas Automobile Dealers Association Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Legislative Committee, as well as Chevrolet's National Dealer Council, the General Motors Dealer Executive Board, and the North Texas Chevrolet Dealers LMA Board.
In the community, Stephen serves on the Board of Directors for First Tee Fort Worth and has supported several North Texas nonprofit organizations in leadership roles. His work in business and service has been recognized by Fort Worth Business Press 40 Under 40, the Jerry Durant Driving Parker County Forward Award, and Fort Worth Inc.'s Entrepreneur of Excellence.
Stephen and his wife, Pamela, met while attending TCU and have been married for more than fourteen years. They live in Fort Worth with their three children, Christopher, Kelly, and Stephen Carter, and are active members of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth. Outside of work, Stephen enjoys spending time with family and friends, cycling, tennis, boating, kayaking, and snowboarding.
